The MX style of clothing is almost definitely an improvement on the lycra nightmare (only acceptable for XC racers), but not everyone wants in your face logos and brash blocks of bright colours adorning their chest when out for a quiet ride in the woods. It's also a bit boring, the moto style makes every companies designs look the same and doesn't allow for any character or creativity to shine through.

lovely

We'd love to see mountain bike companies take a leaf out of skate and snowboard fashion, and think of clothing as a work of art, rather than just a way of getting sponsors logos as large as possible all over the garment.

There are a few companies however that do produce some nice, plain clean jerseys with interesting designs that we'd be happy to wear out and about and not just on the bike. Here we list 5 of our favourite looking.

1. Remap Stealth Emblem MTB Jersey

Remap have lots of nice designs, but this one stood out as subtle but still interesting, available for £38.99 on the Remap website

2. Sombrio Chaos Jersey

Sombrio are another brand with a great range of more subtle designs, the Chaos Jersey stood out for us.

3. Nukerproof Nirvana Jersey

A few years ago, Nukeproof were the kings of huge logos and garish designs, but for 2018 they've produced the great looking earthy Nirvana jersey.

4. Flare Women's Roost Long Sleeve MTB Jersey

Flare are another brand with some creative artistic riding clothing, we love the Roost long sleeve womens jersey

5. DHaRCO Mens Gravity Jersey

DHaRCO are an Australian brand making some solid clean, shirts. the mens Gravity Jersey caught our eye.
